Renewing Class 1 HGV Licence???
Comments
-
They're not whispers - they come into effect a week on Monday.
HOWEVER existing entitlements still remain for those who already have licenses.
and I can't remember a DVLC (or more likely EU) moving of goalposts that had retrospective effect on existing licence holders.
Generally, once you have a category then you'll keep it even if the rules change so new licence holders now have to do a separate test to get the same category added to their licence.
More importantly, I think that the entitlements he got when he passed his car test pre 1997 (which now include B+E & C1+E (107)) and which will allow you to drive pretty much any car & caravan with total weight <8.25t isn't even subject to a formal medical on renewal at 70 & older.
You just need to confirm you are medically fit every three years rather than handing over cash to your doctor for them to confirm it0
