Childcare costs up.....

but only by £9 per week-do I need to tell Tax Credits?

Comments

  • Only if they are covering the whole amount and you are not paying a difference to make up the full child care due to carer I'd think. I think you get 70% of the costs upto a max £300/week for 2 children pr £175 for one, so if you pay over that, then you can advise at year end during renewal I should think.

Thanks, I don't want to get into trouble for not telling them something I should, but equally not sure that £9 makes a difference!

I had to ring them before re- nursery grant making my payments go down. They told me if it goes up or down by £10 or more then I need to let them know.

Be careful - last year I told them about several small increases and each was logged but under £10 so when the next one went on they didnt increase the level of benefit.

I wouldnt mention it unless its going to be £10 or more difference.
