I have had 3 combi's in three different houses. All fitted by plumbers at our cost (bad luck eh!)

In my opinion the best we had for reliability and quieter operation was a Worcester 28i
  • Thanks for that. We are having a quote done to fit. Arounf £3000 as we are having our current boiler and hot water tank removed. HAve you any idea on reasonable costs?
  • I'm having my old water tank removed, a new boiler put in and 3 radiators, and including the price of the boiler itself i've been agreed £1700
  • I guess it all depends on the quality of the boiler and gear.

I've been recommended by a number of Plumbers to go for Vailland, more expensive but it's what they uses and my local master plumber won't fit anything else!

Go for a Vaillant or an Ideal Icos (or Imax not sure which is the domestic one is).

We install them on social housing projects in London in their 100's these are the ones we've had least trouble with.

I assume they are sealing your system i.e removing the F&E (feed and expansion) tank. I would say with this all in that £1700.00 is a fair price. You can wipe £550 - £650 off that £1700.00 figure for the supply only of the boiler.

    Good work!

We have a Worcester 28cdi, and have had no problems with it. I think Bosch make Worcester boilers (but I may be wrong).

Worcester Bosch and Vaillant I think are generally reckoned to be two of the best.
  • Thanks everyone for you help - it is greatly appreciated!
