Hi All
If you are experiencing problems with nuisance calls at home or at work you can contact BT's Nuisance call department on 0870 333 3727 (https://www.saynoto0870.com should have an alternative number)
They will investigate the calls on your line and where applicable will involve the police!
I have never actually used them for personal lines before, however, I do speak with them via work and they are usually a very helpful bunch!

If anyone is suffering from nuisance calls, etc then see BT's PDF (Acrobat format) File on Nuisance, Malicious & Silent Calls.
According to the above PDF, the number is a freephone 0800 661 441.
The 0870 quoted by misslopex may be for business use hence the rip-off 0870 NGN number.0 -
The BT Nuisance call line is a good start point.
Most of these Silent Calls are not malicious.
Things are starting to move in the area of regulation of this. Anyone interested should keep following the TV and radio.
I claim some modest credit for being the only consumer to have persuaded Ofcom to start to use the powers that it has to stop Silent Calls from being made.
There is some interesting information on my website:
