^^ Thats exactly why I'm told I'm not eligible for Income support
and JSA I can't get either..
Surely you are entitled to Income Based JSA?
Have you asked?0 -
You are absolutely correct that your NI contributions only entitle you to 6 months JSA. After that time JSA is only paid to those on a low enough income - this means you mh88, so get on to DWP ASAP!0

Phone this number and make a claim for Income Based Jobseekers Allowance.
Jobcentre Plus

I did ask my local jobcentre. She said phone DWP..when I phone them they told me your not entitled to it because your not a lone parent etc..0

You are not entitled to income support. You are (from what you have told us) entitled to income-based JSA!0

Op you seem to be confused between Income Support-which you cant' claim and Income based JSA - which you can claim.
If you are not Au fait with the benefits system is there someone that can go with you to the DWP or contact them on your behalf?0 -
Once you are in receipt of income based JSA, you would automatically pass the financial test for legal aid which should alleviate that situation too.0

Hi, Well I went to the Jobcentre and not had any luck, they told me as i had applied for income based and rejected i wasn't entitled to JSA income based. They also said my contribution based JSA has run out.
Apparently also to get benefits you need a permanent address
So i've rang legal aid and tried to explain the situation..they're awaiting a letter from my mother verifying that I don't live with her..and they want to know why she isn't supporting me.
But I told them am 22 years old and my mother has 3 children how can she support me when she's a single parent!
Hopefully I'll get the issue resolved because I'm ignoring what the jsa centre say and applied online with my friend. My best friend's helping me now. I've also applied for a part time job because right now i want any money, so i can just give all to my daughter as I haven't been paying her any money
as haven't had any. I wondered though if i got jsa income based allowance..but i got this job it's 6 hours a week part time at £6.20 a hour I believe..would that mean I can't claim JSA
or how would it work?
I'm really really really hoping i get the job..0
