Returned item not refunded

Hi, does anyone know what my next step should be? I bought an item from a business seller and then returned it as it was not suitable. I requested a return through ebay, sent it recorded delivery and advised the seller. I've had no refund and no response to my messages and it's been 6 weeks now.

open case and provide tracking number and say item was sent 6 weeks ago and no refund received

Thank you. He's finally responded to my messages but has said the item wasn't received. What case should I open as I can't find anything that matches my circumstances? Should I open a SNAD case?

Does the recorded delivery tracking say "delivered"? Often recorded does not update on the Royal Mail system and you will need it to say delivered to win a case. (Which is why it's often better to use a courier).
