  • Looks like a goodish site, but I couldn't help but laugh that he wouldn't sell "that rubbish wild Alaskan salmon" but has no problems selling rubbishy farmed salmon :rotfl:

My Mum has completed the bi-annual tradition of emptying her freezer into mine and amongst the pickings is an unopened bag of makro sea bass fillets...

Do I need to defrost them first?

And what can I make with them that is both MSE and low calorie?

    Thanks in advance :D

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • I'd defrost them first ;) I'll add this to the existing thread to give you recipe ideas.

Not entirely OS but if you have odds and ends in the freezer or in your fridge you could adapt it as it's DEEEEEEEEELISH! http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3366/sea-bass-with-sizzled-ginger-chilli-and-spring-oni
Even my OH who doesn't really like fish liked this.:j

I bought the Morrisons £2 sea bass yesterday to cook today..no cooking instructions and i very rarely cook fish(unless its frozen in breadcrumbs or out of a can)..Trying hard to be healthy and eat more fish...the morrisons fishmonger has chopped the head and tails off for me,should i simply squirt with lemon, add a dod of butter, wrap in foil then bake in oven(or preferably my Remoska if 190 degrees is an Ok temp)how long should i bake for?thanks.

    Hi,

I have some whole Sea Bass in the freezer I got on offer a month ago.

I want to make salt encrusted Sea Bass but all the recipes tell me to use course sea salt. Is there any reason why I cannot use table salt as I have a 2.5kg bag of the stuff I use for pickling?

Buying a kilogram of seasalt will cost a small fortune.

    Thanks
