If you plan on selling on Ebay you should be prepared to go by Ebays rules. If the buyer takes up to 4 days to pay as is fine by Ebay policy, it would be childish to punish them by posting the item late.
  • Hi There

Send your buyer an email, stating you are going away and will not be able to send the item if you receive payment later than the date you are due to go away - be polite about it.

I would usually leave my buyer to pay within 7 days which is one week, this covers holiday, sickness or other - before opening a case for unpaid item and shows that I am a honest and genuine seller on EBAY!

As a seller I know completly how you feel when you want your items shipped asap, which also keeps the buyers of your items happy and wanting to come back to you for more purchasers in the future i.e add you as a favourite seller. -

However when you are buying and selling anywhere in this world, you have to learn to be patient and not jump in and say things such as im going away at 1 pay up by 3 im going away or you wont get it till i get back that is just ludicris.

Be patient and you will be well rewarded in the long run, just be patient.

What I usually do is - at top of ebay page - their is a button called "ADVANCED" - click on that - on left hand side click on finding trading partner - put in item number your trading with and your trading partners members ID - then click

It will send an email to you with your seller/buyers telephone number i.e it will send yours as well - yet you will both be able to contact each other -

This is benificial as you can telephone your buyer and let them know your situation and that you have their item ready for dispatch, they just need to pay for it!

Give them a telephone call, instead of all the messages via ebay.

If telephone number is fake, report immidiatly.

    I hope this helps
    Regards
    Paddy

Less than 24 hours to pay is a bit harsh! It's not the buyers fault you're going on holiday! You need to plan better.
But the more you ebay, the more you'll realise that there are also going to be winning bidders who won't pay up. You just have to take it on the chin.

I always give my winning bidders 4 WORKING days to pay (which is more generous than Ebay themselves say - ie: just 4 days, working or otherwise). It's up to me, as a responsible seller, to make sure I'm available to post within 3 working days of payment being made. Which obviously, in my case, can be at least 8 days after the auction ends.
Because it's fun to have money!
