unit of gas

One metric gas unit is approx 11.2kWh.
The exact calculation method is shown on your gas bill and varies sightly with the 'density' of gas.0 -
It's not a constant, because one is volume (cu m) and the other is energy, and the calorific value varies by day and region. But it's roughly a factor of 11.
Use this converter.

to work it out roughly times the units by 11.2
the exact quation should be on the back of your bill and is
number of units x 1.02264 (volume conversion factor) x calorfic value (this can change depending one where you live so check your bill) = kwhsI am an employee of British Gas but all views i write are personal and not a reflection of my employer.0
