Should I be concerned?

Sold an item over the weekend, buyer located in Poland, despite my buyer preferences being set to block everybody except UK.
The confirmed Paypal address is in the UK, is that how my blocks were bypassed.

This is first activity on the account for 2 years.

Had a message saying do not send for 7 days as no one at home. My despatch time is 1 working day.

What do you think, any precautions I should take, thanks.

  • where is the shipping address? it could be more of a case the buyer has gone back home for christmas
  • Someone correct me if I'm wrong but don't you lose paypal seller protection if you don't send within 7 days?
If you are happy to send it and its going by RM I would send it anyway, then it will be kept at their delivery office for 3 weeks and they can arrange redelivery for a day that's convinent for them.

If they've paid for it, post it. No your fault they're not at home. They'll have to get it redelivered. Send it recorded if you need to.

The confirmed paypal address is in the UK. The buyer lives in Poland but a relative lives at the UK address.

Yes the 7 days was what worried me, as well as my despatch time being 1 day.
I was already thinking of upgrading to recorded, which also means upgrading to 1st class from standard parcels (item only about £20 inc P&P) but if I am going to lose protection anyway it is not worth it.

Thanks for the replies so far.

It might weigh too much to go second class, if it was going Standard Parcels in the first place.

    Not if it weighs 1.3kg

    Spot on.
  • Yes the limit for 2nd class is 1kg. Fortunately 99% of my stuff is under that, and lots of the time slimmer than 25mm.
