Hello all
My oh is a ceiling fixer and work has been slack for a while. its getting quite serious now as we only have my wages coming in(i am on maternity leave) does anyone know if he is able to claim any benefits

of course you can claim HB and CTB. it will be based on your earnings and his self employed earnings (theyll either ask for his accounts or send a form for him to fill in). anyone can claim HB or CTB even when working but not everyone is guaranteed to be eligible for it based on the household income.
also you may be eligible for a £500 sure start maternity grant especially if you get tax credits. if this is your first child, once you have applied for tax credits claim for the SSM within 3 months of the birth of your baby.There's someone in my head, but it's not me0
