Im buying my dads house, he pays for the gas and electric just now.
If I were to start a contract with a different supplier in my name, would my dads contract automatically cancel? Or would he need to call them and cancel?

When you take a contract it will cancel your Dads although he should call and give meter readings and a forwarding address so his final bills will go to him.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

as long as the other supplier wouldnt objectDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

If you move in or take over the property then you are in a deemed contract with the existing suppliers. You must first take readings and register for an account with them before you can switch. The incoming supplier contacts the outgoing supplier with your closing readings. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
