Learning Distance Access Course Help?

Hi
I have been wanting to study as a midwife since school, started my alevels however due to a family members health deterioration I had to quit to care full time.
Circumstances have now changed that I can start to study once again!
I have spoke to a few universities that have all advised me to take an access course to meet the entry requirements.. I have seen one on the Distance Learning Centre - access to midwifery, which sounds perfect as I can still be overlooking things at home whilst I get used to the new situation.
However what I wanted to ask was that the course costs £922.00!! I am currently unemployed as I'm a carer, I did have a 1 day a week job but the company had to get rid of some staff, me being one of them, so it ended in December.
What would people recommend in regards to paying for this course? I could possibly ask family members to lend me the money but I was wondering about a loan. I am unsure whether I will get accepted as I haven't got any credit history.
Sorry to ramble on, I have finally got the opportunity to begin a course and I've come to get another hurdle!
I am applying for part time jobs, had 3 interviews so far with no luck!
