    Hi

A few things need to be considered here:-

    1) the sofas are usually packaged quite tightly so this should aid in getting it through into your lounge
    2) Worst case scenario it really does not fit and removing just the door might also aid in getting the sofa in
    3) Depending on which wall your door is on (supporting on non-supporting) on a supporting wall you will possibly have a lintel above the door frame in which case knockng this out is definitely not a good idea.

Sorry i could not be of any more help

Usually in these cases, the window needs to be taken out, to get the sofa in that way.

Could you not do this instead?

another trick normaly is to bring the sofa in on its end, swing the back into the room then pull the bas through, aslong as your door way is a normal size it shouldnt be a problem or as said above it is known for a window to be taken out the sofa put in and window refitted.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

My OH is a removal man (and done lots of deliveries for DFS too) so quite often has to get big sofas into small rooms.

    Here are a few suggestions.

    1) Remove all packing and feet/castors.

    2) Put sheet of carboard down each side of door and on floor. The sofa may be able go through doorway with a good shove and the cardboard will protect it.

    3) On some sofas ( leather recliner types) the arms can be unbolted from the sofa and the backs can be lifted out.

    4) If you have a large paned double glazed window, it is relatively simple to remove the pane (make sure it is some that knows what there doing though so the beading isn't damaged).

    5) As mentioned before, removing the door and/or casing can provide a few extra inches.

A decent delivery guy will be able to tell you just by looking, it it will go through or not.

    Best of luck.
