Audi idle problem
My Audi A6 2.6 estate yesterday had a flat battery it was fine the day before I jump started it immediately the sunroof opened even thou it hasn't been open for years the car fired into life and started idling at 3000 rpm then it started surging between 1500 and 3000 rpm
I called the AA they managed to get the sunroof shut manually they drop tested the battery and found a drain on it which was the motor on the NSF electric seat which we disconnected however the car still idles the same went out in it this afternoon and took it 10 miles mostly dual carriageway it will do 90 plus no problem but it is still surging when idling I've tried leaving the battery off for an hour I've tried disconnecting the battery both terminals and rubbing them together as suggested on a Audi forum all to no avail the car ran fine the day before it seems the seat motor/switch duffedthe battery the sunroof is a complete mystery it's all most as if its got no battery connected and its running off its own charge the AA man tested the battery all was ok once it got a charge back into it

Many car ECUs need to "relearn" the engine when they've had a flat battery and can involve taking them on a short run carrying out specific tasks.0

After 30 to 50 miles it will settle a fair bit. After a couple of hundred it may even run better than before.
After a few hundred miles it should be OK, If not you need to get it checked.
How old is the battery?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Ring up VAG and tell them their programmers are s&*t.
It won't solve anything but it'll make you feel better0
