Partner facing redundancy

Hi,

Wondering if anyone could share some light please.

Mrs is soon to be redundant and will need to claim JSA? She has worked for 12 years various hours per week but has been working 16 over over for last 2 years now. Gets about 8.5k a year. Dont think she pays tax or much tax as on the limits of tax free pay. I presume she will pay some NI in this and which type of JSA will she be entitled too.

Also as were not yet married, but have 2 kids, will the JSA forms need to know about my wages/savings etc. Might sound bad but we both pay a salary related percentage into a house fund and all the bills come out from there. If she saw I had some savings ( only a couple of k ) then Im sure she'd find something we can use it on. Not always realising its held back for a reason like keeping us afloat in an emergency! Shes a bit more live for the day than me.

Cheers for any advice.
