do the tiling costs include supply of tiles, adhesive etc? if not they seem very high - where are you located? it can affect price
  • Thanks tpt

I will be supplying the tiles but the adhesives, grout etc are included. I am in Buckinghamshire
  • the tiling costs can vary a lot depending on the shape of the room too, large areas of lat walls are quite simple, loads of edges and shapes to work around can be very fiddly and time consuming, the choice of tiles make a difference too, borders, mosaics etc

Your being charged £52 per m2, which IMO is a bit on the pricey side. unless your fitting something very unusual i'd advise that you query at least that side of the quote. It may be that the fitter is subbing the tiling and putting a bit on for himself.

Up here in the midlands id expect between £25-35 m2

    Thanks Sparkiedave and tpt

I thought that the tile charge was a lot. Anyone any thoughts about the other costs?

    Thanks

Kitchen ripout and fit looks about right to me. Had to use some guesswork and added some contingency for site unseen but my figures come out within 3% on a VAT inclusive price.

As far as tiling is concerned meterage isn't a universal pricing model. On my model I reckon I'd be about £ 200 cheaper again VAT incl.

There's always a but though. VAT's a potential project killer. Find someone like me who trades below the VAT threshold. He'll automatically be iro 20% cheaper on labour as a result and by far the majority of your price is labour..

    Cheers

Make sure he/she's a registered electrician and that you get all your certificates and part P paperwork. This is a requirement as it's work in a kitchen

Blimey I have been quoted over £1600 for a new worktop so for a whole kitchen I think that's a good price.
    £2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.
