Hi we want to change a lampshade but the plastic connected is jammed and we can't unscrew the bottom part to change the lampshade. The top part un screws ok, but not the bottom part. Any ideas on how we can undo the bottom plastic part?

Only way is to break it.
If your lucky only the shade holder will break adn you can replace just that from a new one, if not then you will need to replace the pendant complete!
They dont cost a lot and its only 2 wires, if your capable?
When you do up the plastic holder just put a very very thin wipe of vasoline on the thread and dont over tighten, it will help next time you change the shade!
Its the heat from the lamp that makes them distort and get brittle, and the threads are a bit rough to start with!Signature removed0 -

Thanks I was looking for an easy option! It's a two way light and there are two red and two black wires going into the pendent so was looking to avoid touching that.0 -
Just replace the pendant lamp fitting, or rewire exactly the same as is already!Signature removed0

I did not realise you could replace just the pendent light fitting, I will take a look in the stores. Thanks.0

There are, of course, more expensive options available, but we are in MSE land
