Connecting LG BP620 to LG TV

I am having trouble getting my LG TV to recognise my new LG BP620 blu ray player. I also have an LG HDD Hard Disk Drive. The tv and the HDD drive are connected via HDMI. Have plugged Blu ray player into HDMI socket 2 on the tv. Blu ray player is not being recognised by TV to start set up procedure.

The instructions with both the existing tv and with the blu ray player are not very clear.

Can anyone offer assistance?

Try plugging your Bluray player through your HDMI-1 socket and see if it works that way.

Tried plugging into different HDMI sockets, tried turning Simplink off, tv just not recognising the Blu ray player. Think it might be a duff box so going to arrange to return to Amazon.

If you have a known, good HDMI cable connected to the HDD, try using it to connect the Blu-Ray to the TV so we can isolate the fault better.

Try another HDMI cable. The cable needs to be post V1.2 to be CEC (Consumer Electronic Control) compliant.

In simpler terms: for the Simplink to work there needs to be the connections within the HDMI cable which is generally V1.2a and above.

I had exactly the same problem a week ago on a Samsung Blu-ray player
