Knocking down wall between lounge and dining room ?

I want to knock the wall between my living room and dining room down to create one big room. Most of the neighbours have done this and they have told me the wall is not load bearing. The wall is about 13ft. I also want one of the doorways blocked in.

I have not asked for any quotes yet and feel a bit nervous about doing so.

Can anyone give me an idea of how much this might cost before I go out and ask for quotes? I am based on London / Kent boarders.

Many thanks

CP

Read the whole of the original post.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.
  • what is the wall made of? brick? block? stud and plasterboard?, probably best to ask your neighbours who did theirs and you may get an idea of cost over the phone from someone who has done work on an identical house in the row
