It shouldn't pose a problem but I am not sure why you are not paying NI even though you are on half pay.. I was on half then SSP last year when I claimed IB but my company paid my NI up until my final pay packet when I was medically retired... someone with more knowledge will be along I am sure... but you shouldn't have any problems claiming IB as regards your NI contributions....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I think that you will be OK as you must have been paying enough NI during the last two tax years to get IB. I don't think missing a month will matter.
If your work are not going to pay you any more, you should apply for IB now.
Here's a link to apply online (and giving further information):

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
As long as you have been paying NI in recent tax years there should not be a problem receiving Incapacity Benefit. This tax year will not even be considered when you make a claim so there is no need to worry.0

Depending on you Income and Capital and whether you have a working partner you could claim Income Support due to Incapacity. Otherwise you could claim JSA contribution based for upto to 6 months but would need to be actively seeking work.0

Contribution based JSA is not means tested but there is the six month limit and it would require "signing on".0

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.
