Sausages work much better fried or grilled then placed in slow cooker later.
Chicken...just put whatever you like into slow cooker and turn on. Do a web search there is thousands of websites answering your question.:footie:

I've put pre cooked sausages in a crock pot and it's lovely! Nice and soft! I usually put in chicken or pork or even beef and it's delicious with potatoes and any other veg lying around!Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000

I find they're great for cooking unidentifiable brown stew, a particular favourite of mine. It's irrelevant what ingredients you use - just bung everything in, leave for hours and there you have it."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Old style board definitely.
Things to remember:
liquid will not evaporate, so you must either:
use less (possible loss of flavour - consider using more concentrated stock)
evaporate before adding
boil afterwards (advantage is that you can adjust seasoning better, disadvantage is that it can be a bit unwieldy)
Meat will rarely brown.
However, I often use my crockpot for slow pot roasting.
You put in a cheap joint of meat, add seasoning, herbs & spices, pot vegetables etc. but no liquid
Some liquid comes out of thr veges & meat, which you can use like a thin gravy. Using the right meat & flavouring, this is excellent (look for pot roast recipes to start with)0 -
Cheating I know - but Schwartz do lovely sauce packet thingies. When I started using my slow cooker i had trouble finding recipies with enough flavour and these little packs of powder work. Also good when you don't have a well stocked store cupboard!0

Sorry - typed this on iPhone and it came out garbled. I have now hopefully made it a bit more legible.0
