Not unless your DVD player supported divx and your AVI file was encoded with DivX
Otherwise you will need some sort of converter program. There are plenty out there you can try before you buy. Personally I found the package from cucusoft to be good. http://www.avi-to-dvd.com/ Your mileage may vary.
Once converted then you can use Nero to burn.0 -
I'm looking for the same, is it a free download?0

I'd second Avi-2-dvd. Does exactly what it says on the tin!0

I found this very helpful and it works ... I burn most of my dvd's this way - it also converts them if you don't have a divx dvd player

Hope it helps
P.S. and it's free:j

I use Windows DVD maker, came as part of Vista , works a treat, encodes AVI no problem, and you can add titles etc0

erm, use nero. I use that, you create menus and then it encodes everything to dvd and burns it. leave it overnight when youre not using your comp otherwise the sound will be out of syncCashback

Nero should work.
You might want to have a look at:
http://www.techsupportalert.com/best_46_free_utilities.htm
Which lists around 100 free - really free - great utilities.
For hassle free copying of any DVD, then you can't beat the combination of https://www.slysoft.com - AnyDVD - but must be paid for (worth everypenny), plus DVDshrink - freeware, plus Nero for burning. Slysoft also have an excellent package that converts DVDs to mobile player formats - PSP, Zen, etc.0 -
