Standard tariff with E7 meter?

Hi, just wonder if anyone knows:
Will utility companies let me have a standard tariff even though I have an Economy 7 meter?
Basically in the winter the use of our storage heaters means its obviously cheaper on E7; but in the summer we don't switch them on at all, so would benefit from the lower rate on everything else.
Assuming we didn't take a tied-in tariff (or one which has no penalty to leave), we could save money overall.
Will they let us?

Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.

Some companies will combine the readings, some won't, you'll have to ask them.
However, the saving you might make by switching back and forth twice a year, could be less than the saving you'd make by staying on the cheapest online discount tariff with an ETC for a year or so. Also, remember that in summer you'll still need to heat your hot water, and will not be able to do that on cheap rate any more.
Do the maths on any comp site with your E7 split and it will tell you instantly.
