Opening a Barclays Bank account Just for the Free Anti Virus Software ?

I had a Barclays Current account that I closed last year, but I overlooked the fact that they provided Free Kaspersky anti-virus Internet Security software.

My renewal for this software is up soon and it will cost £49.99 for 3 PC's to renew it with Kaspersky, is it worth opening the account with Barclays just for the Free Kaspersky anti - virus Internet Security software ?, which would save me £49.99 ?.

Thanks.

Just get AVG or Avast - both of these are good, free, and there's no need to open a current account.

As already said, go for one of the free packages, in my experience kaspersky is very heavy on system resources.

AVG - free and better that the bank offered one , I got sent it free and found it memory intensive
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I have a Barclays bank account, but choose AVG instead as its less resource hungry in my opinion.

The new issue of PC Pro has a comprehensive review of AV software. Their free recommendation is Avast, while their best paid for option is Bitdefender. Kaspersky did well but uses a lot of resources, and if you were paying for it is the most expensive software in the test.
