can i open a barcley card account in my name then transfer my husbands balance

I keep getting sent a barcleys card offer, with 0% balance transfer ect, and I wondered, can i take them up on this offer and then transfer the balance on my husbands barcley card over to mine?

that way I can cut out the intrest on his card.?

we are seeing an adviser for natwest next week to see about transfering to their 0% but i just wondered, as Barcleys is coming up as the best balance transfer offer currently.?

...and then the debt will be in YOUR name.

You can't usually transfer from a Barclaycard to a Barclaycard.

    Try phoning them and asking.

You will probably need to use a different bank.

... but if you have another credit card, you could transfer the balance there first, then back to our barclaycard account.

There will be two sets of fees and a bit of interest, but it might still be worth it.

As I read it OP does not currently have a Barclaycard merely getting offers to apply.
So if her credit rating merits applying for a new card it would be better if she got a card other than Barclaycard.

As others have posted she needs to know that his debt becomes hers and she is solely responsible for repayment.
