New combi boiler = double the gas usage

OP: did you always use the old boiler to heat your water i.e. year-round not via an immersion heater in the cylinder during non-heating season?
No immersion heater, used boiler year round.
I've actually studied a six month statement from Nov 11-May 12 with the old boiler. We used 14500kwh, so perhaps 8000kwh from September to December isn't too bad! Still, I expected to use less gas than before. Though saying that, initially the room stat was set to 23 for when it was heating. Now at 19 so should hopefully see an improvement.0
