Where to get box for laptop packaging?

Hi,

I am selling a 17,3" laptop on eBay and no longer have the box. Has anyone got any ideas how I could get a box or otherwise package this?

Try freecycle or even a local computer shop for a box. wrap securely within box, then put that box in an outer sturdy box as well if you want to be sure.

Always pack so that your box can be dropped from waist height onto a concrete floor.

Remember as well to check that any courier you use covers laptops, and remember all the enhanced seller preference settings and the paypal on collection scam.

Thanks I will try the local pcworld.

Could you recommend a courier that would cover laptops? I was thinking of parcelmonkey would they be OK/

Could you elaborate on the enhanced seller preference settings and paypal on collection scam, what exactly are these?

I know nothing about couriers as tend to only use Royal Mail. However I assume you have checked Parcel monkey and have noted they do not insure laptops?

    http://www.parcelmonkey.co.uk/prohibitedItems.php

Seller preferences , for instance make sure you do not allow overseas bidders (unless you are happy with your courier ) then all then usual, block buyers with 2 or more strikes etc. maybe even consider blocking those with no card on file if they have low feedback.

PayPal on collection scam, basically, just don't let someone pay by PayPal and then collect. If they use PayPal item must be sent tracked.

Be very careful sending Laptops, i had one i had to send to a customer after we had had it to install some custom software. Posted it in its origional box, with an outerbox and bubble wrap. Still arrived with the screen smashed and RM would not pay as they didnt cover laptops.

Ouch, I really need to find somewhere that covers laptops- would be grateful if anyone knows for sure which couriers do. It looks to me that https://www.parcel2go.com would be OK as I don't see laptops listed in the no comp list?
