just called my mortgage company to confirm a few details surroundng my default last year (I know - the very worst kind of default can thnk of and I let it happen to me :( )

Lovely lovely lady on the other end of the phone, without me even having to ask pipes up "we'd lke to remove the default as a sign of goodwill" ( did pay it up immediately when realised I had it - it was money i had not known I owed)

*puff* £78k worth of default - gone!

it is a gooooood goooooood day. I should be able to get that hideous 14.9% cahoot loan onto a better rate now :D

    i thnk its taught me if anything that if you dont ask you dont get - get out there and ask folks!

    Gong to give it a month to filter down to credit agencies and go to my bank see if i cant get that loan on a better rate.

    id wait a few days till your CR is updated before applying- but cant harm to look on moneysupermaket ;)
    incidentally, my OH had a cahoot loan and managed to shift most of it onto a virgin 0% cc and a bit on barclaycard also at 0%
