Here is a man and a party with a strong belief that he could just pull off....

David Cameron has said he hopes to serve another full term as Prime Minister if he is re-elected in 2015.

His comments come as the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg prepare to unveil a review of how the coalition has performed and set out its top priorities for the rest of their term.

After just taking child benefit off everyone with children with one parent staying at home and the other earning more than £60,000 and taking home £800 a week he has just lost quite a few votes from families who may have voted tory so good luck in winning back all those votes of parents who earn around that amount. Reducing benefits to those who earn very little will also lose votes...although poorer people tend to vote labour anyway.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

And this present climate will certainly not help Cameron in achieving his ambition, unless he has some extreme sweetners that his party will disclose and take a page out of Labours book and 'buy the voters' with promises that the electorate would find hard to refuse.

    David Cameron says

"In mid-term in government you are taking difficult decision, there's always going to be a tendency for people to look at protest," the Prime Minister said.

Surely these decisions apply to the full term not just the mid term.

Daves comments were aimed solely at his own party and potential challengers.
  • he has no chance. next Govt will be a Labour/UKIP coalition. Should be VERY interesting.

What a Cocktail that would be, no doubt there will be a few strong comments coming from the Forum diehards, for the want of a better word, after their coffee this morning.;)

Cameron has just been busy saying much the same stuff live on The Andrew Marr Show. (BBC1).

He, as a public school boy, demonstrates the same value for money spent on his education, in the well turned phrase - I keep remembering the speech given by the late Diana's brother. The comparison is at best "unfortunate".

[Only one Freudian slip where he confused child tax allowance with Housing benefit - both due for a chop]

So he can talk the talk, BUT can he (& Gideon etc.) walk the walk in a Europe with a socialist state control heritage - never mind keeping his backwoodsmen in the Tory party on message?

If you actually think that you should bet it. William Hill offer 6/1 on "Other" which includes a Labour/UKIP coalition + some other even more obscure possibilities.

I wouldn't rule out a Labour/LibDem coalition if Cable has managed to get leadership by then. Sobering thought.

UKIP will win somewhere between 0 and 0 seats at the next General Election unless the electoral system changes.

Of course if Scottish people vote for independence in 2014 then there's a very good chance that there will be a Tory Government at the next election even if people vote as they claim they will.

Totally agree but I suspect it will be a defining point for the busted First Past the Post system that Labour and Conservative like so much. Entirely possible millions will vote for UKIPT and they will get more votes than Liberals but no seats. I also think they will decide the result since many Tories will loose their seats by narrow margin to Labour as a result of many tory voters voting ukipt in these seats
