A friend of mine has recently had his car stolen from the roadside.
If it does not get recovered, will he also lose out on the road tax, which had about 10 months to run ?
Thanks in anticipation.

How annoying.
Check with DVLA - I think you can claim it back apart from a £8 admin fee.0 -

Hi.
£8? It used to be £2. If your car is VED Exempt, a replacement is (was?) free.
I think you effectively apply for a replacement disc, and simultantously surrender it. Get application form from PO, or possibly down load. Google DVLA VED REFUND. Do it before end of month.
You may also have to declare SORN. Phone DVLA,to confirm they know the car is stolen.

The tax disc (along with anything else related to the car) will belong to the insurance company if they make an offer on it.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -
V14 form if you have the disc, V33 form from a DVLA office if you do not.0 -
