Ideas for family friendly hotels in Europe please?

Options
Hi

Would anyone be able to suggest some family friendly hotels (all inclusive if possible) in Europe please for a sunshine holiday in July? I have 2 girls, aged 7 and 5 and would prefer a separate room for them if we can as otherwise they don't sleep.

We've been abroad as a family a few times but have always gone with major tour operators as we needed kids clubs which started at 3 and most hotel-run clubs are from 4 or 5 years only. I've been pricing places we've been before and honestly cannot afford to go with Thomsons, First Choice etc. The prices are around £3000 for a week which just seems ridiculous. I've been looking at Travel Supermarket, Travel Republic and similar sites but their descriptions of the hotels are quite basic and don't really describe what the kids facilities are like. Both kids absolutely love kids clubs, evening kiddy discos and activities so these are a must. If anyone has any suggestions of hotels that may suit us I'd be very grateful.

Thank you in advance

A very big tip here, look for the packages you want with Thomson/First Choice, then go find your own flights and book the hotel with another company or direct with the hotel. Just watch put for First Choice giving hotels different names, for example Holiday Village Tenerife is actually Luabay Costa Los Gigantes. This tip makes holidays much more affordable, and they're almost the same as the expensive high street brands. The hotel I mentioned earlier, Luabay would probably suit you, as as well as the Fist Choie kids club they offer their own kids club that includes cinema in a proper under ground cinema, and lots of other activities for kids. Your 7 year old would probably love the high ropes and archery too, but 5 may be a bit young?

All of the apartments are two room, so they can have their own room and you can have yours.
  • Have to agree with the above, I had a 7 night holiday in fuerteventura 3 years ago that came to over £3000 with First Choice, booked the hotel with Otel.com for £210 and the flights with Ryanair for just over £500 - that was for 2 adults 2 children, self catering. This year we want to go back All inclusive and the cost for that is coming up at £715 for a 2 bed apartment for 2 adults 3 children, with the flights coming in at around £700.
The hotel is Blue Sea Club Caleta Dorada (though the "blue sea" bit has only been added recently so may be under new management) in Caleta de Fuste.
It has 3 pools and a mini splash park, £10 taxi from the airport, 15 minute walk to the beach and shops.
They have kids clubs where they do pool games, football and other activities in the day and a disco every night.
Id highly recommend the place for the cost its a brilliant hotel.
May be a bit further than what you were thinking though but you can achieve the same savings with pretty much any place. Even the hotels that Thomas Cook and the like claim to be their exclusive hotel are easily found on the likes of

Here's a link to the hotel on booking.com - they have the best selection of photos

Have you considered a static caravan/bungalow on a campsite rather than a hotel? There are loads of excellent sites in Europe, you'll have separate rooms, they usually have kids clubs and loads of entertainment, often right on a beach. Have a look at siblu/keycamp/eurocamp for ideas, or find a good one and book direct.

Couple of good ones we've stayed at are Chateaue Des Ormes in Brittany, El Delfin Verde in Spain (on the med coast not far from the French border).
  • Thank you very much everyone, these are all suggestions we'd consider, I've got a lot of costing and investigating to do! Thanks
