Chick Crumb as cat litter

I realise some of you know about this anyway but I've just started using it and it's brilliant. Not as smelly as litter and absorbs really well.

Mine was £5 for 20kg as it was short dated, not that it really matters for what the cats using it for! It's usually £8 for 20kg.

Never heard of this. Do you mean chick crumb that you feed to chicks?

It's called Baby Chick Crumb, we have been using it for years after a breeder friend recommended it.

It is excellent, doesn't smell, clumps well and can be flushed.

We get a huge bag for about £11 which lasts us with three cats a good two months.

Interesting. I've got a sack of duckling crumb that I didn't need. Might give that a try.
  • Yes, it's chicken feed. You don't get any muddyness off it.

Hi, can you tell me where I can buy this stuff? My cat has just been diagnosed with skin cancer :-( On friday she is having her ears taken off and will become a house cat (only 3 years old...) I need to get ready with litter etc and this sounds good value for money.
Can I also ask if it makes a mess if they then walk it around?
    Thank you

So weird, I just reduced some of this at work but ours are 3kg down to 1.99 I think. Were 3.99.

Blossom, sorry to hear about your cat. You can get chick crumb from Scats or Countrywide if either of those are near you. Pets at Home might also have some, although they tend to be expensive.
  • I think mine is black farm gate, they have a list of suppliers on their website.

I couldn't find any at pets at home.
