Water damage in kitchen

The options I am offered via Asprea who Santander have appointed to manage are: a) cash settlement to 'do it ourselves' - pretty much a non starter as I just want it sorted. b) appoint Asprea to do the work - they will replace some cupboard carcass, re-paper small amount of wall & replace floor laminate up to kitchen door & install door bar c) as 'b' but no door bar & all laminate replaced including hallway - they will contribute 60% of cost for hallway.
I am awaiting quotes from Asprea - I really feel that the insurance should provide flooring from hallway through to kitchen as this is what we currently have and the existing floor cannot be colour matched.0 -
I don't think this ruling applies to all insurance companies. It's massively unfair if the floor seamlessly flows through the rooms and is always immediately visible when you enter the property.0

Okay, so all things considered, against my principles of fair play etc I think we will settle on paying 40% of undamaged hallway, even though it visually extends into our kitchen.
If I have to go to 'complaint' it may take even longer to sort out & the cost to me with excess is just over £200, £95 of this being excess.
I was hoping my blog (in my profile) would have shamed Santander (Aviva) into doing the right thing but I'm guessing this is the closest I'm going to get. I just want it all fixed.
Thanks to all that have posted with support, info & advice.0
