Recepion Venues at the Holiday Inn

Has anyone held a reception at the Holiday Inn chain? How expensive is it?

Would you recommend it?

I am looking into the Holiday Inn in Bexley

Mine was in the Holiday Inn six years ago, so prices will be quite different now. They were billiant. The Wedding Breakfast was lovely, and they allowed me to mix and match from the different set menus to create the meal i wanted and the price to match.

The evening hot buffet is still commented on everytime i go to a function and one of my wedding guests is there. Never ending trays of hot chicken, garlic mushrooms, pies as well as all your usual fair.

I would recommend them. I have a feeling the wedding breakfast cost me £25 per head including wine, and the evening was about £8 per head, but over 6 years ago now.

Drinks at the bar were not overpriced, which was something i specifically checked for the benefit of my alcoholic friends )

Oh we also had 2 complementary double rooms, and a complimentary beaty treatment ( i had acrylic nails) and wedding make up at the hotel.

I went to one once, and to get too and from the loos and to the bar from the function room then you had to walk through the restaurant (which was packed with members of the public). It didn't seem very intimate to me having to walk through a public lobby in a wedding dress etc. Also, the meal/disco etc was all held in one room and after the dinner they made everyone wait outside of the room until they had cleared down and set it up for the evening- but in the meantime, you just had to hang around!!!!!

All hotels will have a different layout though so you may have none of these problems.

Yes different hotels have different layouts and you would go and see it before booking anyway to check this out.

I am considering our local Holiday Inn as a reception venue, if you go on their website you can request a wedding brochure for your chosen hotel and that contains all details and prices etc... very helpful so far for me.

My brother in law and his wife had their reception at a holiday inn. She worked there so i assume got some form of discount. And we got a discount for our hotel room as we were part of the party. But it wasnt the best recption in the world! The food was nothing to rave about - i can even remember what there was and it was only a year ago. The drinks were seriously overpriced - father in law was ready to create a huge fuss over that. On a plus point - there wasnt far to walk to our rooms after the party!

Holiday inn (was married there 2005)
was fab idea of prices then:
£25 (3 course meal per head)
£13 drinks package (arrival drink/toast/wine on table) you dont have to buy this per person,we didnt as many people dont drink/not every one will want toast drink many will want to buy their own
We got a free posh room for night with bubbly in!
Also got free top table decoration
Evening buffet was £8.50 per head
    Bar was pricey as hotel
    Hall hire was £250
    Disco they provided was £250
They gave all guests discounted rate £40pp per night including breakfast
Also we had free meal on our 1st wedding anniversary at hotel

Hope this helps ( this was one in sevenoaks).
    Feel free to ask more!

    xx
