New boiler powerflush vs hot flush

We're getting a new boiler and a number of the quotes have recommended a hot flush vs a powerflush - sticking in some cleanser, running the system and filtering the return flow then flushing and adding inhibitor.
Firstly I realise this is a cheaper option for them and me. It doesn't sound too bad an idea though. Gven how heavily powerflushes are pushed by the likes of BG I'm not actually that inclined to trust them and we will have a fernox filter on the boiler to keep the levels of circulating crap down. The people doing the fitting are all worschester or vaillant certified engineers.
Any thoughts on this?

if they are using magnacleanse to clean the system them it will be ok

Thanks, I'll ask the likely company about this tomorrow. I know one of the companies wasn't even bothered about filtering the return - they went to the back of my list though when their quote came through it did say they would use a fernox tf1 which I suppose is better than nothing but I imagine these type of filters are designed to gather small amounts of gunk over time not large amounts during a flush of a new system.0

the link plumb posted is exactly the same (near enough) as i use on my powerflush machine, because of it's size it can be used with a manual flush, however it's not something a customer would have & if you are going to use that you might as well powerflush the system, while am in-situ filter (magnaclean, tf1 etc) will collect any sludge they are designed to filter the normal water after it's been flushed not really to be used during the flush
just to give you some kind of idea BG will charge around £800 for a powerflush, i charge £300 & if it is part of a boiler change i am doing i reduce that to £200 (& i use the same equipment as BG).I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

I don't have anything - this is all being done by a rgi when fitting a new boiler. Some are quoting the cheaper manual flush, others a powerflush.0 -
it depends on your installer, alot of installers don't have a powerflush machine so unless they go & hire one a manual flush is what they will do, i have a powerflush machine so i will use that as there is no point in me leaving it in the van & strugglingI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

I spoke to the RGI I'm most keen on who quoted a hot flush and they are using a magna cleanse type filter thankfully. The chap who wanted to just stick in the cleanser and let it flow around the nice new boiler has been struck off the list of potentials
Thanks for the advise - again this forum is invaluable.0
