What stunning little chap. We are so lucky to have these special souls as our friends. Give us their all, and ask for nothing in return. How can we not love them to pieces. xx
RIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxx

Oh he is lovely :) I cant believe he might have been put down:(
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Yes, he is gorgeous. I got involved with RDR because of him really. We had stopped donating to the big dog rescues and donated to just a few small ones online, including RDR. I was doing just that one day using the paypal button on there when I looked at the urgent dogs and saw Diggs. I just knew there and then I had to try to get him home with me. And I did :) He is a lovely companion for our disabled boy, parson russell, and he makes me larf every day - he never fails to do something really funny and he is so clever and not above being a bit AC/DC to get his way with other dogs :)if they have a toy or bone he wants.
  • It amazes me how so many wonderful dogs end up being dumped / in rescues :(

I know there are genuine cases of people not being able to feed their families, let along a pet but I really just don't "get" people.

There was a programme on TV over Christmas (you'll know if you saw it) and there was a woman who'd decided she needed to hand in her elderly dog ... how could you let an old dog go to a rehoming centre? A dog that's probably provided you with love and companionship it's entire life?

I just don't get it, I'm afraid :( (this case did have a happy ending I'm pleased to say).....

Our local rescue had 2 elderly labs (litter mates) that'd been handed in .... I'd only recently lost Ben at that time and just couldn't face another "oldie" (they've thankfully been rehomed too) but ...

I know ........you cant imagine the calls I get - usually such feeble reasons for wanting to get shot of dogs. Some are only a few months old - one woman today even had the nerve to say "I dont have enough time to feed it or walk it". So how much time does it take to feed a dog? Better off out of homes like that, but sadly a large number will be PTS because there just arent enough rescue places or good homes for all these poor little souls.

Me and hubby thought she handed her dog in, as she knew he needed a lot of work done on his teeth, and she couldn't afford it.

Wasn't that a lovely man though who rehomed him .. He was such a kind person, and I had tears rolling down my face when they filmed him walking away from Battersea with his new pet.
Some days I wake up Grumpy ... Other days I let him lie in.
