Earthstone Worktops

Does anyone know who manufacturers Earthstone worktops? They have 6mm solid acrylic bonded to 28mm chipboard core. I am aware B&Q sell this make, but i would like to know who makes them.

Or does anyone know of a reputable manufacturer of a similar product?

Earthstone is pretty good in pale colours, but avoid the black like the plague. They are quite soft and do scratch quite easily, but on the lighter colours you do not see it. The black however, scratches white and will drive you nuts in no time, and the Mocha Sparkle is not much better! Scratches can be relatively easily polished out, but still......

On the plus side, worktop joints can be polished out to achieve a Corian like seamless look for a fraction of a Corian price. Stick to the light colours and it is a good product.

    Hi berks
Was your comment specific to one colour or in general?

Also, throwing this one out to all mse followers. I have looked at these in one of the big DIY sheds and received what I regarded as a possible sales pitch. I wanted a number of individual worktops that would not abut each other. I was told I would have to buy a jointing kit plus a kit to polish up the worktops. Why? My response was I do not need the joint kit and the manufacturers should have produced a suitable surface finish.

What advice can anyone give on this?

Type "Earthstone" into YouTube. Full installation videos on there. It will show you what you need and why. I suspect you are being sold the install kit because you will need to put edging on on the sides of the worktop unless all your runs end on a wall.

Work for Wickes, sell plenty of it and have it myself. Coffee Melange or lighter are good. Anything darker I would avoid.

Hi - I've got the Black Star.
Literally pushing a toaster leaves a mark - I'd imagine the lighter colours hide the marks better, but of course they're still there.
You've probably worked out that they come finished on three sides (ends and front) so any visible cut requires edging which doesn't look half as good as the factory finish.
