Cheapest place to book Alton Towers hotel or splash landings?

Looking at prices for Alton Towers hotel or Splash landings hotel for 4 nighs over Oct half term. On the Alton Towers website this is around £650 without entrance tickets or food. Anyway to get one of these hotels cheaper?

Hi,
When we visited Alton towers, we could not find anywhere to book it cheaper, but what we did was get merlin passes and you can then go to any of the parks, you then get the hotels for a discount (we just stayed at the cheapest local travel lodge/premier in for Alton towers) oh and the waterpark was not included but you got a discount.
