Digital Freeview box problem

Options
Hi All,

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I have just got a new freeview box and tried setting it up. Unfortunately it cannot find any channels, everything seems to be plugged i.e Ariel and Scart lead. Any ideas?

Is it an external aerial? (I'm assuming you weren't using washing liquid, Ariel ;) )

  • Sounds like lack of signal, or faulty box, any chance you can borrow a box to eliminate lack of signal.

    Ha Ha :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Never been one for spelling!!

It is an external aerial, so may be lack of signal, this is what it said in the troubleshoot section of the guide. How can I sort this as the box seems to be working fine?

Enter your details into this site and see what aerial group it is for analogue. Then do the same on this site and see if the group is the same. i.e. your existing aerial may not be suitable for digital. It is unusual to get nothing though, assuming that you have scanned for channels.

Your main analogue transmitter is Moel-y-Parc (Group B) although your aerial could be pointing to Winter Hill (Group CD) or even Storeton (Group A) the aerial elements would be vertical for Storeton.

For digital reception Moel-y-Parc needs a wideband (Group W) etc. etc.

Compass bearings are given for each transmitter, so you should be able to see which transmitter your existing aerial is pointing to.
