Ooh thanks guys, I didn't even think to try booking with a deposit!
I shall look into the impact on price if we were flying out a day or 2 earlier also.0 -
Hi I normally live in Turkey, So Ive traveled to dalaman from the uk, many times. I don't know how much your flights are at the moment, but I wouldn't leave it too late. Prices for flights in recent years have really shot up, due to flight companies going bust, so less competition. In the past, you could have a good gamble leaving it nearer the time. But now I would say try and book it earlier if you can, especially seeming you have already booked your accommodation. The time you are going is really busy, so the prices are likely to stay pricey, unless they have a couple of seats they try and get rid of last minute. This time of year some of the companies such as easy jet have promotions. Hopefully in January or February you will see some offer on, that will help. Where have you searched for your flights? I reccomend skyscanner, Ive managed to get flights from there before that were not even listed on the actual companies website for cheap. Also looking on google for money of voucher codes for different companies can also save you some money. Maybe an extra £5 or £10 it all helps. Also its sometimes cheaper to book seperate flights rather than returns, just have a look on single flights first. Even possibly from two different companies, I have saved hundreds doing this. If you do book in a shop, I believe they can get you to pay a deposit, so atleast your flights would be secure that way. I personally always get a better price online, but then I only have to fly myself rather than have a group. If you do go into the shops, ask for quotes then go back in and tell them that you have found cheaper. Some of them can then give you a better deal
There is also the potential to fly for example to istanbul then get a domestic flight to dalaman which is about an hour. That could be cheaper but I know its nice to just get straight to your destination, but it is another option. For in country flights pegasus are normally good. If you do go on skyscanner if you put in your departure and destination, it works out the flights for you. good luck I hope you enjoy your holiday 0
