compliance officer

hi my husband got a letter about a visit from a customer compliance officer. iam in no way worried about the visit OR SHOULD I. as iam my husband full time carer, as he has dementia and crones plus a bad heart. we get all monies that we are entitled to. including direct payments to pay for a part time carer. my husband is only 44 years old so he is still working age but obviously in his case this would be impossible. i would hate to think that the dwp are out to take benefits from people with conditions that cant be reversed. my husband could no way live alone we still have a letter from when he applied for dla stating if i wasn't with him he would undoubtedly have to live in care

As you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about. Every now and then the dwp computer system randomly selects cases to look over and ensure that all is as it should be. They will come out and talk with you and you might even find you are entitled to more help and assistance than you are getting now.

As you say you've done nothing wrong, you re claiming only the benefits you are entitled to. Why do you think the DWP are out to take those benefits away from you without reason? A compliance officer may be coming to visit as a result of someone reporting you or you may have been selected at random. Wouldn't you want the DWP to check out cases that have been reported to them? They aren't all bad you know, they can sometimes identify that you are entitled to something you aren't claiming.

no i have had no extra money in my account i wish lol. yes sammy you are correct i do believe they should follow up all leads if their is a possible fraud involved. its just they you hear that the dwp want to cut the amount of people on benefits. and i do believe changes have to be made. i just dont trust the dwp as i remember they sent a health worker to my house and as a result took my husband off his dla and took quite a long time to get it back. he actually went from low rate care to high. but its wasn't loosing the money that was the main problem it was the knock on effect of his care for the few months he was of it. so hopefully you may understand my concern with anything concerning the dwp. and iam quite sure as in any sector their are good and bad.just i have had more of the latter
