Natwest Personal Loan

Hi there
I am considering beginning a claim for just under £5,000 of bank charges from Natwest. My account is not overdrawn. However, I have a personal loan to the value of £3,200 with them. I'm assuming the total amount repayable will be closer to £5,000 due to interest over the 5 year loan period.
One condition of my personal loan is that I "maintain" a natwest current account with them for the duration of my loan.
Where do I stand with them closing my account if my claim is successful? Would they allow me to keep my loan? It would seem extremely unfair of them to close my current account if it is a term in my loan agreement that I have to maintain it!
Thanks,
Dan

Hi, I am also in the same position with you - not being able to close my account cos I have a loan with them.
However if you read the Natwest thread and the success stories I dont think anyone has had their account closed once they have got their money back0 -
Thanks for this. I suppose, if the worst comes to the worst I'd be happy to pay off my loan with any winnings although I'd much rather continue paying according to the original agreement and keep my winnings for a deposit to buy a flat!
Thanks again0 -
Blimey! Wish I was claiming that much back, mines going straight on a credit card to pay it off.
Honestly Im pretty sure, they aren’t going to close your account and demand the loan back, there might even be something in the loan contract saying they cant do that - somebody more knowledgeable than me might be able to tell you.
So start flat hunting! Let us know on the Natwest thread how you get on
