I was mortified to read a comment in the Daily Mirror yesterday on Brian Reade's page which read as follows - "Some of life's saddest specimens flock to New Year's sales to buy next year's Christmas presents". Well, ok, I'll put my hand up, I am one of those sad specimens! Admittedly I don't flock there on the first day…

Thanks to all who have replied to my original post - it's nice to know I am not the only "saddo" and most of you are with me at buying gifts in the sale. As someone said "it's daft not to". I am lucky in that I have quite a bit of spare storage space in an old built in wardrobe in the spare bedroom. Well done all of you who have got a good stash already! We'll be the ones laughing come November and December!!
