We are considering it for 2 weeks at the end of May. Thomson seem to be the best tour operator as not many seem to go there.

Would also be interested to hear any recommendations.

If you do a search you'll find my previous comments on the place.

Basically there is minimal things to do outside of the main resort hotels such as the RUI's so unless you want to lie by the pool for a fortnight it may not be the best place to go.

The beach is nice but very windswept due to the location so you get blasted by the sand and due to the wind the waves are strong with an undercurrent.

There are a few tourist shops and bars/restaurants but if you like to explore the area you will be disappointed.

This pretty much sums up the advice I was given on here when I asked the same question early last year. Someone I work with had their honeymoon there last year and whilst they enjoyed it they didn't really want to do anything other than take advantage of AI and sun bathe by the pool.

Stayed at the Rui Garopa in Sal July/August - below the usual Rui standards.
Main gripe -was ill which stayed for over a week after returning home, barely ate for 5 days after spending 2 solid days in bed.
There seemed to be extended families resulting in the sunbeds being block reserved, large groups in bar - not really great for couples.
Everyone we heard discussing their holiday at the airport would not return, the islanders have no idea about customer service and low standards in the hotels and the highlights on the few tours available were quite awful.
The only people who had anything nice to say had stayed in apartments in the main town and ate out in the local places.
Was short of cash, hence choosing Capre Verde, but this was a downgraded holiday too far and a waste of £3k.

My daughter went and told me that we wouldn't like it. Basically average to poor quality all round. I suppose you get what you pay for
