DWP nightmare.....

To cut a long story short......My husband suffers from manic depression and was on incapacity for years. Moved to ESA (which they told us nothing other than incapacity was been phased out) and they wrote in July and took it off us. Numerous phone calls/letters/forms back and forward with DWP resulted in nothing so went to Tribunal and got a date for November. Contacted my local CAB and it was a godsend.....huge thanks to David who represented us.

Tribunal gave DWP their decision and as they didn't appeal (they had 4 weeks to do so) was told that we would have to wait 6-9 weeks before we heard. To potentially speed things up, i sent a copy of the decision and letter to DWP in case "they lost it"!

Now in week 7 and still heard nothing....my patience is wearing thin as we have been without money since July! We were told it would be backdated and sorted out but still getting nowhere.

Any advice on how I should proceed or should I just wait?

Suggest that you ring the local enquiry line at 8 am Mond-Frid and speak to someone about this. Get them to ring you back from decision maker department and say that you are concerned that you sent them a copy of the decision and have not heard anything and that you are suffering hardship as a result of all the delays.
