I have a mobile phone on contract £30 pcm. For me, its essential as I don't have a landline. Couldn't be without it.BCSC Member 70:j

I used to have a contract phone but it makes it far too easy to spend a fortune - free minutes are texts are just useless when you can't keep track of how may you've actually used!! I'm back on payg now and only spend £10 a month - but some months I don't even put that on so it's definitely easier to budget!0

Harldy use mine, in actual fact its main use is for an alarm clock in the morning!
When my contract expires in 4/5 months then I will switch to PAYG as it's not worth it for me (and I pay £14.99 pm). Only took this deal out so I could get the phone to be honest and I don't intend to change the phone.0 -
its a strange thing how attitudes have changed in as little as 10years.
back then i new virtually no-one with a mobile except if it came from work, virtually no one had Sky, noone had broadband, all we had was a landline at say £15 a month.
Now its normal to have Landline (15), broadband (15), two mobiles say 60, sky 45 making £135 that is almost considered essential and thats leaving out the kids PAYG mobiles (essential because of the security aspects.. how did we manage before).
I did not have 2 teenages 10yrs ago so i dont know! and 10yrs ago it was not as bad for the teenages when they were out and about as it can be now.0 -
Well I have not long got a contract mobile which I pay £15 per month with 500 min any time any network so now I can stay in contact with my family (who nearly all use mobile's and have reduced my land line bill to just line rental. So to be honest my mobile has been a money saver!! (never thought i'd say that)DEBT FREE 23/FEB/07 TWO YEAR's!! £2 £1020.00 Banked New total £268+ and counting SAVINGS 3000.00- ISA £30. :j0
