Hi ok wasn't sure where to get an opinion on this, hope it's ok here. Ok someone just messaged as my partner has a 6ft trailer, to ask if he would pick up 2 fence panels for her. So fair enough she doesn't live far from wickes, but we have to hook up trailer, drive to wickes then hers and home, wasn't sure what to charge,so halved the price that wickes charge to deliver...£12.50 she came back with that's a bit much it's only a mile. Well it maybe from hers to wickes but that's not where the journey starts and ends. Just wanted an opinion please :-)
Don't expect everyone to understand your journey, especially If they've never had to walk your path!!

If she's a relative, friend or close neighbour then the answer is to do it for love. Anything else looks mean.
If she isn't any of the above the answer is "Do it yourself then."
Cheers
PS My local fencing guy delivers FOC (:D) because I ask him to and Wickes would be one of the last places I would go to for fence panels. But that's bye the bye.The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has it's limits. - Einstein0 -
Thanks keystone...no she's not family and not really a Friend... Just someone I know to say hi to....so I'm taking from that you think £12.50 was fair ? It's bugged the hell out of me,I would have suggested she go to timber merchants, but she annoyed me lolDon't expect everyone to understand your journey, especially If they've never had to walk your path!!0

i'd have expected a drink for the effort or i'd have said £100

Some people are just tight and not greatful or appriciative of peoples time and costs.
£12.50 sounds very fair.0 -
Thank you Russell and Ian, to be fair if it was family they would have offered that anyway, things are so tight atm , and it would go straight in the car for diesel anyway....I considered it a fair price :-)Don't expect everyone to understand your journey, especially If they've never had to walk your path!!0
