Manage Blackberry contacts?

I'd like to manage my Blackberry Curve 9360's contacts from a Windows 8 desktop, but I don't have Outlook or anything installed.
Is there a tool that will allow it to be done?
I had a look on the interweb, and came up with an Italian one, something called MagicBerry which didn't work on Windows 8, and Elcomsoft BlackBerry Addressbook (ebae) - which wanted ".IPD" files but the BB desktop software saves backups as ".BBB".
So, I could go on trawling for and trying things out, but it would be great if somebody could point me at something known to work.
Thanks!
