Statutory Demand
Hello! I've just been issued with a statutory demand! I contacted the CAB like it said on the form but they where little help, they just made me run through my incomings and outgoings when all I really want is some advice on how to set it aside. Has anyone had a similar experience or can give any advice?

Try searching for "Consumer Action Group". They have a very active bankruptcy forum with hundreds of stories of people who have set aside statutory demands, and quite a few very active posters who will help you.
It goes without saying that you need to apply to get this set aside ASAP.0 -

It depends on the value and what else is owed, sometimes they can be a blessing and easy way to bankruptcy and a clean start.
If its just a summary debt then it needs to be re-buffed.

Thank you so much for your replies. I received the demand by hand on the 3rd Jan, it's for £5000 and its the balance of a loan from the bank for £25000. I want it set aside because I requested a copy of my credit agreement, which they didn't have so surely it's unenforceable. Is it correct as well that if I was self employed when I took the loan out they shouldn't have sold me PPI?
I think that's correct, I'm surprised at what a little google search can tell you!0
